As a facilitator, I have typically employed the method of breaking out large groups into smaller discussions, and then ask one member from each group to summarize what was said. The person who volunteers typically summarizes well, but might miss a point from the conversation, or repeats points from other groups. It's always bothered me that we haven't had a more efficient way of capturing ideas and sentiment in real time. Also, the main benefit of having a group discussion is to build consensus, so I'm curious if there are any studies that show how aligned participants feel after using this technology. I think it shows great promise, and would love to participate or facilitate a conversation in this way as soon as possible!
